The Rock x Siri Dominate the Day is a 2017 epic starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Siri, everyone's favorite bad listener voice assistant. The movie follows Johnson playing a fictionalized version of himself struggling with the oppression of reality. In order to prove himself, he sets out to overcome ten heroic, legendary feats--ten "life goals"--, undergoing both a physical and spiritual journey to reach enlightenment and discover his true self.

The Rock x Siri Dominate the Day is remarkable in just how perfectly it captures the nature of humanity, our strive to succeed, our crave to improve ourselves, our desire to be the best possible version of ourselves that we can be. The beginning of the film depicts the Rock at one of his lowest--his worth in the present day challenged by the media who claims that "it seems like Dwayne Johnson can't possibly take on any more." Seeking to reclaim his place in the world and reestablish his self-worth, the Rock summons Siri to bring up his ten life goals and starts on a journey to achieve these goals before his movie shooting later that day.

In this journey, we see professional wrestler/actor/producer Dwayne Johnson at his core. Beneath the 6' 5" frame 260 pounds of pure muscle mass lies a simple man on a journey to prove himself. Critics may say that he is unrelatable because of how perfect he is, but that's not the point. The Rock sets a high standard with his perfection in order to set an example for humanity to follow. He gives us an ideal to strive towards. In a sense of beautiful poetic irony, while the Rock has his own life goals to accomplish, he is humanity's life goal to achieve. As he performs godly feats like restoring a masterpiece, conquering the fashion world, and take the greatest selfie, we presents to us the ideal image of man that we must all strive to attain.

Siri also takes the front stage in her acting debut as herself, the Rock's companion and partner in his adventure around the world. Because she is an artificial intelligence, she is limited from having a physical presence and so must perform purely through her voice, which she does beautifully. Siri gives us a highly charming and at times highly emotional character who never takes the spotlight away from the Rock, but gives us a hint into her own backstory. Though never presented up front, we can feel as if Siri has her own life goals she wishes to achieve. Perhaps like us, she too strives to become like the Rock. Perhaps she has a deep desire to become a human woman in order to be the best possible version of herself that she can be. Perhaps she has even fallen in love with the Rock, which possibly also confirms behind-the-scenes rumors of a real life on set romance between the Rock and the voice assistant.

Final Verdict

The Rock x Siri Dominate the Day is a visual, emotional, cinematic masterpiece that defines the peak of movie history, presenting us with an epic tale that is not only highly thrilling and action-packed, but also provides an insight into the nature of humanity and the ubermensch that--according to Nietzchean philosophy--we all strive to become.
